Hundreds of people in Toms River were without power on Wednesday after a crash, according to police.

TOMS RIVER – Hundreds of people in Toms River were without power on Wednesday after a crash, according to police.

News12 reported that a car hit a utility pole, causing as many as 500 power outages before 4 a.m.

At 7:30 a.m., JCP&L reported 167 power outages.

The Asbury Park Press reported that, at 3:30 a.m. the driver of a Ford Mustang drove into a utility pole outside of 1931 Whitesville Rd., downing power lines, police said.
