Shooting At Wawa Under Investigation In Toms River: Report

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A shooting at the Wawa on Route 37 at Garfield Avenue is under investigation on Friday morning, according to a report.

One person was shot and was being flown to a hospital for treatment, The Lakewood Scoop reported.

An alert at 7:50 a.m. from the Ocean County Sheriff's Office urged people to avoid the area of Route 37 and Garfield due to police activity.

A witness told Patch there is yellow crime scene tape around the area of the gas pumps at the Wawa, and vehicles from the Toms River Police Department, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the sheriff's office are at the site.
