Police say the man held the knife to the clerk's back to get her to open her cash register.

TOMS RIVER, NJ -- Toms River police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man they say robbed a store clerk at knifepoint on Friday.

The man -- described as a 6-foot-2 white male with scruffy facial hair -- walked into the Dollar Tree store at 1354 Hooper Ave. about 9:40 p.m. on Jan. 29, said Ralph Stocco, spokesman for the Toms River Police Department.

The man walked up to the 24-year-old female employee, pulled out a knife and put it against the woman’s back and demanded money from the register, Stocco said.
