Let's Hear It For The Dads: Joseph Brown
He has been there for his family, even as illness has challenged him, his daughter, Nicole, writes.
We asked you to tell us about your dads -- what makes them special, what makes them your heroes -- as we celebrate Father’s Day.
Nicole Brown of Toms River wrote us about her father, Joseph:
“My dad truly exemplifies the meaning of the word ’father.’ For the past 30 years, he has traveled four hours a day to and from work to support his family. He proudly attended each dance recital, lugging around three cameras and videotapes to make sure he captured every precious moment of his ballerinas. Whether I needed help sorting out colleges or just someone to talk to about relationships, he was always there with my best interest at heart.

“Unfortunately, my dad became very ill a few years ago to what doctors still do not know what it is today. Although the illness made him weak physically, my dad fought through and showed me what true inner strength is. He never gave up, just like he never gives up at any obstacle that comes his way. My dad is more than just special to me, he is my hero.”
