Man Dies In Rough Seaside Heights Surf: Report

The man was pulled from the surf and CPR performed, according to reports.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — A 40-year-old man died Saturday evening in the rough surf in Seaside Heights, according to a report.

The man, who was on the beach with his wife and 5-year-old son, may have broken his neck after he was hit by a wave, the Asbury Park Press reported.

The National Weather Service has been warning about rip currents and rough waves for days along Ocean County's beaches being kicked up by Hurricane Florence. Long Beach Township authorities issued a Nixle alert Saturday warning residents of a "continued high risk of rip currents in effect through the next few days. Do not go in the water."
