The man, from Brick, was stabbed when two men forced their way into a motel room, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Brick Township man was stabbed in the face with a screwdriver during an attack at the Pier One Motel on Monday night, Toms River police said Thursday.
The 42-year-old man and his 28-year-old female companion were attacked when two unknown men forced their way into the room at the motel on the westbound side of Route 37 at the foot of the Tunney Bridge, said Ralph Stocco, spokesman for the Toms River Police Department.
The two attackers were described as African-American and wearing dark clothing, and brandished the screwdriver as they broke through the door, Stocco said.
