Millville Man Being Sought In Toms River Hotel Stabbing: Police

Carles Bryant, 34, has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was found stabbed multiple times following an altercation last week.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A 34-year-old Milville man is being sought by police after he was charged with attempted murder following an incident last week in which a woman was seriously injured, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s office and Toms River Police Department announced on Monday.

Carles Bryant was charged with attempted murder and unlawful possession of a weapon stemming from the incident, which took place on March 3, officials said. Toms River Township Police were called to a Howard Johnson Hotel on Hopper Avenue at 10:30 p.m. after a physical altercation was reported to have happened in the hotel lobby, officials said.

Officers found a woman unresponsive and with stab wounds to the head, face and body, officials said Monday. The woman was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where she is listed in stable but critical condition, authorities said.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Toms River Township Police conducted an investigation that identified Bryant as the suspect in the altercation. Police are searching for Bryant and his name has been placed in the National Crime Center database and a warrant has been issued for his arrest, Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced Monday.
