TOMS RIVER, NJ — Suez water company is continuing to replace water mains in Toms River, with the next round of work beginning Monday.

The water company says it will be replacing about 2.2 miles of aging water main along Toms River streets.

The company will replace the aging water main installed in the 1950s with new 8- and 12-inch ductile iron pipe and renew 206 individual water services.

Work will be done five days a week, Monday through Friday, both days and nights, and residents in the area should be prepared for traffic detours and intermittent temporary parking limitations.

Suez officials said the company "will provide ample notification to residents as the project progresses, including when to expect brief interruptions of water service."

People who live within the construction site will be able to move through the area as needed, and emergency services will be able to respond, as access will not be obstructed during the project.

The project is expected to be completed, including milling and paving, by June 2022, officials said.
