New Jersey 7-Day Weather Forecast: More Changes On The Way

If you took out your fleece or sweater over the weekend, you can put them away once again as we flip between fall and summer.

Just when you thought it was starting to feel like fall, it's going to start feeling like summer again in New Jersey. Once again, temperatures are expected to rise.

Temps won't hit 90, as they did a week ago. But the seven-day forecast for New Jersey looks especially good through Thursday with plenty of sunshine and temperatures reaching the 80-degree mark.

Warm weather will spread over the eastern half of the country but perhaps slightly more tempered than last week, AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok said in a release.

Temperatures will average 10 to 15 degrees warmer than early October normals. “Some record highs may be challenged, since average temperatures trend downward at a swift pace during October,” AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said in the release.

"It's the type of weather pattern where many people will need long sleeves and a jacket first thing in the morning and evening, and shorts and short sleeves for the afternoon."

Weekend highs that were in the 50s and 60s will be replaced with 70s and 80s this week. Unlike the last surge of heat, widespread 90-degree temperatures will not occur, according to the release.

It will be dry, too. In fact, "abnormally dry to moderate drought conditions" are growing across the Northeast, according to the latest outlook from the U.S. Drought Monitor.

Rain may finally arrive on Friday. Here is the seven-day forecast:
