Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Parkway Crash In Toms River

The Jackson man was following a Ford Explorer when his motorcycle hit the Ford, state police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Jackson man was seriously injured Saturday evening when his motorcycle overturned and hit the back of a Ford Explorer on the Garden State Parkway, New Jersey State Police said Monday.

Ronald McGinness Jr., 59, of Jackson, was hospitalized as a result of the crash, Sgt. Philip Curry said.

McGinness was riding a Harley-Davidson about 7:45 p.m. Saturday in the southbound left lane of the Parkway behind the Ford Explorer near milemarker 81.4 in Toms River when the motorcycle overturned and hit the back of the Explorer, Curry said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Curry said.
