Neil Torian Van De Putte Of Toms River Dies At 25

Services for accident victim killed in Lacey on July 5 slated for Friday and Saturday.

Neil Torian Van De Putte, 25, of Toms River, passed away after a tragic accident Sunday, July 5, 2015.

He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on March 11, 1990. He was a physics major and math minor at Drew University, set for graduation in 2016 and maintained a 4.0 GPA. He was recently awarded the Marshall C. Harrington Prize in Physics and Astronomy for an outstanding physics research project.

He is survived by his sister, Alyse Van De Putte, his stepbrothers and sisters, Eric Sharkey, Brian Sharkey, Jesse Clark, Trevor Aldridge, Angela Aldridge; his mother, Yvonne Yaar-Sharkey (Dennis Sharkey); his father, Chris Van De Putte (Karen D’Angelo). He is also survived by his grandmothers, Ann Yaar and Gladys Van De Putte and many loving family and friends.

His family wishes to honor his life by creating The Neil Van De Putte Scholarship Fund at Drew University for Physics/Math Students. In lieu of flowers, please send your donation to: Neil Van De Putte, 800 Washington St., Toms River, NJ 08753.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A service to celebrate Neil’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home. Cremation will private.
