Updated with more events and sites: Whether you like Halloween a little scary or a lot, we have you covered. Take a look ... if you dare.

If celebrating Halloween for you means getting scared silly — or getting scared a little — there's plenty of places around New Jersey to do just that.

Long Island is full of haunted houses and other spooky attractions. We've compiled a list of attractions that range from creepy to downright terrifying.

Terror in the Halls
H&M Potter Elementary School, 60 Veeder Lane, Bayville

Find out what's happening in Toms Riverfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

The attraction is celebrating its 10th year and is a fundraiser for the school's PTA. Scheduled for Oct. 20 and 21, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night. A scary tour through the whole school with about 45 live actors haunting each night. Ghouls, darkness, funhouse-style obstacles abound. $10 admission. Click here for more information.

PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel

The legend of the Jersey Devil comes to life through four attractions. Meet and talk with some of the Devil's victims at the Devil's Midway. Tour Old Mother Leeds' cottage where the Devil, her 13th child, was born and began his murderous rampage. Work your way through the Pine Barrens maze inhabited by more victims, and witness a performance of the Blood Drums. Open Thursdays through Sundays until Halloween. Psycho Trail
311 Harrison Trail, Blackwood

The haunted walk-through has been scaring people yearly since 2009. Scaled back somewhat this year, it offers thrills and chills with scary actors and surprises. Open Oct. 14, 20, 21, 27, 28, 31. There is a no-scare kids event on Sunday, Oct. 29. Raises funds for the American Cancer Society. Click here for more information.

A. Casola Farms Fall Festival
178 Route 34, Holmdel

A House of Horrors, Haunted Hayride, Corn Walk of Terror and Travis County Junkyard make up the scary attractions at the farm, which has events throughout the year. Prices vary depending on the attractions; a $30 ticket gets you access to everything. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through Oct. 29. Click here for more information.

John Fell House Haunted Happenings: Poe's Phantoms
37 East Allendale Avenue, Allendale

A presentation of the Saddle Brook Youth Theatre, it's six tales of terror on the historic John Fell House property, told by actors and storytellers in a lantern-lit setting. Paths are uneven and you will need to be able to walk up and down staircases. This is a moving play, and some interactions last longer than others. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $18 for students 12 and under and seniors 65 and over. Oct. 20 and 21 only. Reservations only. Click here for more information.

Scary Rotten Farms
151 Brick Blvd., Brick

The haunted attraction located at Berry Fresh Farms offers two haunted experiences: Sinister Sneed's Chaotic Carnival of Chaos, where another man's deal with the devil has resulted in the collection of many tortured souls, and Blackened The Plague, where the illness has distorted the bodies and minds of its victims. Open Friday and Saturday Sept. 29, 30, Oct. 6, 7 and then Thursday through Sunday from Oct. 12 through Halloween. Admission is $18 for one experience, $30 for both and there's a VIP option. Night of Terror at Creamy Acres
488 Lincoln Mill Road, Mullica Hill

Billing itself as New Jersey's largest and scariest haunted attraction, it includes a cornfield maze, a haunted paintball hayride, "Zombie Mayhem," "Slaughter Cave" and three other equally creepy attractions. The haunted hayride was featured on HGTV’s Scariest Haunted Houses. It is open Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29 and 30 and Oct. 6 and 7, and then Thursdays through Saturdays the last three weeks of October. Tickets are $35 for general admission to the six attractions, and the paintball hayride is separate and costs $25. There is a combo ticket available. Click here for more information.

Red Mill Haunted Village
56 Main St., Clinton

The Red Mill in Clinton is a frequently photographed historic wool mill from 1810 in northwestern New Jersey. At Halloween, it is transformed into 3 stories of twists and turns, never knowing what kind of ghouls and zombies you’ll encounter with your next step. There are kid-friendly haunts availalbe as well as the more scary adult variety. It opens Oct. 13 and operates the last three weekends in October. Tickets are $30 for general admission. Brighton Asylum
2 Brighton Ave., Passaic

A series of old warehouses was converted housing for the mentally unstable back in the 1940s. Today it's called one of the best haunted attractions in the world, earning praise from the Today Show called us “The Scariest Place On Earth” and from Haunted Attraction magazine, which called it a top 4 “must see” haunted attraction in the country in 2015. This year's additional wrinkle is The Tunnel. Tickets are $28.96 for the asylum and tunnel if purchased in advance, $33 on site. Click here for more information.

C. Casola Farms Haunted House
131 South Main St., Marlboro

The farm features the Haunted Hayride of Terror, a 3-D Haunted Barn, the Haunted Wooded Trail, the Living Maze and finally, Marlboro Zombie Breakout. There are tickets for individual attractions and combo passes. Click here for more information.

Jefferson Township Haunted House
81 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong

Jefferson Township Haunted House is an annual community-run Halloween event that began in 1988 and is held in Lake Hopatcong, NJ. It's scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 21 and 22. It includes a children's matinee each day and the more scary adult version afterward. Tickets are $3 for the matinee, $5 for the scary showing. Click here for more information.

House of Horrors
645 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick

Open every Friday and Saturday in October, it in clu Oct. 7 through Halloween, the attraction includes a haunted hayride as well as other events and is designed, built and operated by the Middlesex County 4-H Teen Council. "Face Your Nightmares" in the house for $5 or tour the house and take the hayride for $8. Click here for more information.

Fear in the Forest
182 City Line Road, Pemberton

Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13 and 14. The family-owned property deep in the cranberry bogs that are home to the Jersey Devil is in its 15th year. "Be sure to follow the bones to the cabin in the woods where the fights and fears will begin," it says. Donations of $10 per adult, $5 for those ages 5 to 15 are taken at the gate. Brookdale Haunted House Theater
765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft

The community college's Performing Arts Center invites you to what is calls a truly terrifying haunted maze of demented demons. Open weekends in October. Tickets can be purchased only at the box office. Click here for more information.

Haunted Scarehouse
105 West Dewey Ave., Wharton

The Haunted Scarehouse at the Hayden Farmhouse, home in the 1960s and early 1970s to an eccentric family, is a combination haunted house and escape room experience. There are four escape rooms with live actors as part of the experience. Solve the puzzle to complete your Halloween visit. Click here for more information.

Eakfest
373 Adamston Road, Brick

This annual spookfest at held at the Brick Veterans of Foreign Wars post is a fundraiser for cystic fibrosis research. It's happening two days, Oct. 20 and 21, and includes a haunted trail, carnival rides, hayrides, food vendors, arts, crafts and merchandise. Click here for more information.

Hayride of Horrors
Corrado's Farm, 671 Mount Bethel Road, Hackettstown

The three-part experience at the family-owned farm is open every weekend in October. The hayride and the haunted house are $16 each, and the haunted corn maze is $10. There is a combination ticket available for $37. Click here for more information.

Bloodshed Farms Fearfest
2919 Route 206, Columbus

If creepy clowns are your thing, this is the place for you. Bloodshed Farms has three attractions: Hellsgate Asylum, The Trail of Terror and Clown-o-phobia. There's also the Last Ride haunted hayride. It's open weekends between now and Halloween and has a no-scare date for those who want a more tame experience. BANE
630 W. Mount Pleasant Road, Livingston

The haunted house, which started out as a small attraction four years ago in the parking lot of the Livingston Mall, now occupies part of a 16-acre lot in the town. They offer less-scary tours on Sundays for the younger set and operate Wednesday through Sunday the last two weeks of the month. Click here for more information.

Bamboo Gardens Walk of Fear
134 Landing St., Vincentown

One continuous walk. Thirteen different themed areas. Plenty of ways to be frightened. That's the scoop on the Walk of Fear. Trek through the House of Pain and the asylum intake before you walk through the blacklight forest and along Blood Beach until you get to the claustrophobic hallway of doom. There's a strobe maze, toxic tubes and more. Open Fridays and Saturdays in October. Tickets are $25 per person. Click here for more information.

Night of Horror at V&V Adventure Farm
1339 Old Indian Hills Road, Shamong

The Night of Horror is just one of several activities offered at the farm that is a haven for all things Halloween. Pick your pumpkins during the day, then go on the Jersey Devil Haunt walk at night. There's a corn maze and a Zombie adventure. Tickets for all of the attractions are cash-only. Click here for more information.

Nightmare at Gravity Hill — Cicconi Farms
1005 Farmingdale Road, Jackson

This haunted walkthrough, which has been featured in Weird NJ, is laid out like an abandoned ghost town, its graveyard and fields haunted by an extensive cast of terrifying ghouls, zombies, creepy clowns and other denizens of the night. It's open weekends until Halloween. Tickets are $23 per person. This is a cash-only site. Click here for more information.

Oasis Island of Terror
3 Circle Dr., Robbinsville

It's billed as the state's most realistic, terrifying walk-through haunt. More than a mile long. Tickets are $25 per person and it's open weekends until Halloween, beginning Sept. 30. Click here for more information.

Scare Farm
120 South Branch Road, Hillsborough

This site has three attractions: The Slay Ride, Creepy Hollow and Paranoia. Located at Norz Hill Farm, it is a walk-through (and in some cases crawl-through) haunted walk. The haunted hayride and the corn maze will leave you properly scared. Open weekends until Halloween. Tickets are $16 per attraction, with discounts for two or all three combined. Dracula's Domain
569 Monmouth Road, Jackson

Check out the Haunted Hayride through the bowels of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, the Psycho Path and the Dead End Corn Maze, all of which are designed to scare you through and through. Tickets for the attractions are $15 each, with discounts for double and triple bypass tickets. Opens Sept. 29 and runs weekends until Halloween. Click here for more information.
