New Jersey Father's Day Weekend Forecast

More nice weather will extend through Father's Day weekend for all of New Jersey, even as a strong storm develops off-shore and could cause rip currents along the Jersey Shore.

The National Weather Service says we should have sunny skies throughout the weekend, with highs around 79 degrees and little to no wind.

The National Weather Service, however, has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook, saying there is a moderate risk of rip currents because of the off-shore storm.

That's storm is not expected to hit us, however. AccuWeather says it's expected to head toward New England.

How long the storm stalls and how much it strengthens, according to AccuWeather, will determine how rough the surf gets and whether rain develops.

And there are some potential storms that could come next week. But no need to rush through this upcoming Father’s Day weekend, which will be in a word, lovely.

The National Weather Service’s updated Father’s Day weekend and Monday and Tuesday forecast is as follows:

  • Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. East wind 6 to 10 mph.
  • Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. East wind 3 to 7 mph.
  • Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 79. North wind around 6 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.
  • Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.
  • Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 80. Light and variable wind.
  • Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60.
  • Monday: Sunny, with a high near 81.Monday Night. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.
  • Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
