NJ Weather: Snow Totals, Massive Delays, Crashes, Speed Rules

As many as 1-3 inches of snow fell across New Jersey on Thursday morning, and it had an impact.

The snow caused state and local officials to impose speed restrictions, drivers to spin out in accidents and school officials to change their schedules.

The National Weather Service held fast to its predictions, even expanding the areas that are under a winter-weather advisory. A number of school districts either closed or delayed openings. Read more: New Jersey School Closings/Delays List - 12/14/17

The weather system held steady into the morning, and ice formed as the temperature dropped, and winds picked in certain areas.

Here is what's happening on the roads:

• Garden State Parkway: Speed restriction on the Garden State Parkway in both directions from Exit 143A in Irvington Twp to Montvale; 45 miles per hour due to roadway conditions, full salting operations.
• Goethals Bridge: Speed restriction on the Goethals Bridge in both directions; 25 miles per hour due to roadway conditions.
• Outerbridge Crossing: Speed restriction on the Outerbridge Crossing in both directions; 25 miles per hour due to roadway conditions.
• US 206: Accident on US 206 northbound south of NJ 38/CR 530 in Southampton Twp. Right shoulder closed; use caution.
• NJ 70: Accident on NJ 70 westbound East of N. Elmwood Rd in Evesham Twp. All lanes closed.
• Palisades Interstate Parkway: Accident on the Palisades Interstate Parkway southbound between Exit 2 - US 9W in Alpine and Exit 1 - Palisade Avenue in Englewood Cliffs. Right lane blocked.
• US 9: Accident and a traffic signal down on US 9 northbound Bay Pkwy in Ocean Twp. Alternate lanes; 5-10 minute delay, use caution.
• Garden State Parkway: Accident on the Garden State Parkway northbound South of Exit 171 - Glen Rd to Chestnut Ridge Rd in Woodcliff Lake. Right shoulder blocked.
• NJ 4: Delays on NJ 4 eastbound between NJ 93/Grand Ave in Englewood and New Jersey Turnpike/I-95/George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee delays due to volume.
• NJ 70: Delays on NJ 70 westbound from Cropwell Rd in Evesham Twp to CR 644/Grove St/Haddonfield Rd in Cherry Hill Twp delays due to volume.
• I-280: Delays on I-280 eastbound between Exit 12 - Garden State Parkway in East Orange and Exit 14W - Clifton Av in Newark delays due to volume.
• Garden State Parkway: Delays on the Garden State Parkway northbound from South of Exit 147 - Clinton Ave in East Orange to Essex Toll Plaza in Bloomfield 2 1/2 mile delay, due to volume.
• US 1 : Pockets of Volume on US 1 in both directions between CR 531/Main St and I-287 in Edison Twp delays due to volume.
• I-78: Delays on I-78 eastbound between Exit 20 - CR 639 in Lebanon Twp and Exit 26 - CR 665/Rattlesnake Bridge Rd in Bedminster Twp delays due to volume.
• Holland Tunnel: Delays at the Holland Tunnel eastbound from New Jersey . The travel time to the New York side is 25 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14C, and 20 minutes from New Jersey 139 at Tonnelle Circle.
• George Washington Bridge : Delays on the George Washington Bridge eastbound from New Jersey Side/Upper Level Toll Plaza in Fort Lee . The travel time is 50 minutes from Interstate 95 at Interstate 80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.
• George Washington Bridge: Delays on the George Washington Bridge eastbound from New Jersey Side/Lower Level Toll Plaza in Fort Lee. The travel time is 50 minutes on Interstate 95 at Interstate 80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.
• NJ 3 : Delays on NJ 3 eastbound approaching NJ 495 in North Bergen Twp.
• Garden State Parkway: Delays on the Garden State Parkway northbound from North of Driscoll Bridge in Sayreville to South of Exit 130B-A - US 1 in Woodbridge Twp 3 mile delay, due to volume.
• NJ 208 : Delays on NJ 208 southbound between Ewing Av in Franklin Lakes and Maple Ave in Fair Lawn delays due to volume.
• NJ 21: DDelays on NJ 21 northbound between Exit 13 - Ackerman Av and Exit 14 - US 46 in Clifton delays due to volume.
• US 9: Delays on US 9 northbound approaching Garden State Parkway in Sayreville delays due to volume.
• Garden State Parkway: Delays on the Garden State Parkway northbound from South of Colonia Service Area in Woodbridge Twp to North of Exit 137 - NJ 28 in Cranford Twp 6 mile delay, due to volume.
• US 1&9: Delays on US 1&9 Truck Route in both directions between Raymond Blvd in Newark and Tonnelle Circle in Jersey City delays due to volume.
• NJ 3: Delays on NJ 3 in both directions between NJ 21 in Clifton and Hackensack River Bridge in Secaucus; 5-10 minute delay.
• I-76: Delays on I-76 westbound from Exit 1A - NJ 42/I-295 in Bellmawr to Walt Whitman Bridge in Gloucester City delays due to volume.
• NJ 55: Delays on NJ 55 northbound from Exit 58 - Deptford Center Rd to NJ 42 in Deptford Twp delays due to volume.
• I-195: Delays on I-195 westbound from Exit 7 - CR 526 in Robbinsville to I-295 in Hamilton Twp delays due to volume.
• NJ 23: Delays on NJ 23 in both directions between CR 660/Newark Pompton Turnpike in Pequannock Twp and I-80 in Wayne Twp 5-10 minute delay.
