N.Y. Man Threatens To Blow Up Toms River Deli After He's Asked To Leave, Police Say
The incident Wednesday at Wolfie's Restaurant on Route 37 resulted in an evacuation.

A New York man was taken for a medical evaluation after he threatened to blow up Wolfie‘s Restaurant on Wednesday morning after being asked to leave, police said.
Toms River Police Department spokesman Ralph Stocco said police were first called to the restaurant, at 199 Route 37, in reference to a disorderly customer.
Kirill Kirnos, 48, of Continental Avenue, in the Forest Hills section of Queens, was seated in the restaurant when he began acting strange, Stocco said police were told. Kirnos was mumbling and being extremely aggressive to the staff and was asked to leave, Stocco said, but Kirnos refused.

Then Kirnos placed a backpack in the rear room and began taping a box to his head, Stocco said. Then Kirnos wrapped his arms in black tape and started to shout, “You can’t make me leave; you don’t know what’s in the bag and I’m going to blow this place up,” staff told police.
At that point the restaurant staff activated the alarm and the police responded within minutes, Stocco said. The building was evacuated and Kirnos was taken into custody by the officers. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit conducted an explosives sweep, and no explosives were found within the restaurant or in the bag that was initially placed in the restaurant, Stocco said.

Kirnos was charged with disorderly conduct and subsequently transported to a medical facility for an evaluation, Stocco said.
