Brick Grads Help OCC Baseball Keep Rolling Along
Brick Memorial's Brian Pintinics had key hits in two of the Vikings' last three wins.

April has been good so far to the Ocean County College baseball team.
The Vikings are 3-0 this month -- 11-2 overall -- after victories over Burlington County Community College, Middlesex County College and County College of Morris.
They were scheduled to travel to Camden County College Thursday but rain disrupted much of the sports schedule around the state, so that game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today. OCC has a doubleheader with Northampton County College on tap Saturday, The first game is scheduled to begin at noon on the OCC campus.

Hitting continues to be solid, with the Vikings getting contributions from different players each game.
Against Burlington, Karl Perez of California was 1-for-2 with two RBI and Brandon Bloodgood (Toms River East) scored twice in OCC’s 5-3 victory. The Vikings rallied with three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth after spotting Burlington a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Matt Daukshus (Howell) allowed three hits over 8-2/3 innings to improve to 1-1. Pat Meagher (Wall High School) closed it out for the save.
Against Middlesex, Brian Pintinics (Brick Memorial) was 2-for-4 with three RBI as the Vikings scored three times in the fifth inning and added five more in the sixth for an 8-0 victory. Angelo Miragliotta (Henry Hudson H.S., Atlantic Highlands) was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Karl Perez had a double and a triple in the game.
Chris Gehrsitz (Jackson Memorial) struck out six in seven innings of work to improve to 5-0.
On Wednesday, the Vikings traveled to Bergen County to face off with County College of Morris and came away with a 6-2 victory.
This time, OCC scored a pair of runs in the first inning and built on the lead from there. John Sullivan (Brick) was 2-for-6 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored and Brian Pintinics had a pair of RBI for the Vikings.
Corey Zytko (Brick Memorial) struck out four in 8-1/3 innings for the victory and Meagher closed it.
