Ocean County College Opens 2015 Baseball Season With Win

The Vikings have players from around the county

The Ocean County College baseball season has gotten underway, and the Vikings have opened up with a bang, scoring an 11-0 victory over Adirondack College in Toms River.

Chris Gehrsitz, a right-hander from Jackson, struck out eight and walked one in five innings, while the Vikings smacked seven doubles in 13 hits. Jordan Reizer, a Howell graduate, and Brian Bloodgood of Toms River East each went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, with Reizer knocking in a pair of runs and Bloodgood tallying 3 RBI. CJ Pulcine from Raritan High School in Hazlet was 2-for-4 with a double and a run batted in.

Jordan Silvestri, a right-hander from Toms River North, struck out three and walked two in two innings of relief for the save.
