Ocean County Dental Group Sends Sweet Gift To Soldiers

The Operation Gratitude effort collected 280 pounds of candy.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — An Ocean County dental group shipped more than 280 pounds of candy to U.S. soldiers serving overseas as part of Operation Gratitude.

The dentists and team members at Garden State Dental Toms River took part in the campaign for fourth year in a row, encouraging Girl Scout troops, Boy Scout troops, church groups, school groups, and other community organizations to collect candy after Halloween and bring it to one of its affiliated practices for shipment.

Garden State Dental joined Dental Solutions, Baystate Dental, Family Dental Group, Dental Associates of Northern Virginia and Gentle Dental in collecting more than 4,450 pounds of candy shipped to the troops this year, and more than 12,000 pounds of candy since it began participating in Operation Gratitude in 2013.
