Parkway Ramp To Shut In Toms River For Water Company Work
The closure is part of a $1.5 million project to replace 1,800 feet of water main in the area.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The closure of a Garden State Parkway ramp for an ongoing water main project is scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 225 through Oct. 27, Suez Water said Saturday morning.
"SUEZ is not closing the Garden State Parkway this weekend," Jane Kunka, a Suez spokeswoman, said by email Saturday morning.
Work that had been scheduled for Oct. 18 to Oct. 20 had been delayed.

Next weekend, the southbound entrance ramp at Lakehurst Road — the area of exit 81 — will be closed, part of the project that started in May where the company is replacing 1,800 feet of water main that crosses under the Garden State Parkway in the area. Construction has been in the areas of Lakehurst Road, Waterline Road, Highland Parkway and West Water Street.
Horizontal boring work is done at night to minimize disruptions and is expected to take no more than three nights at each location, the company said in April when it announced the work.
