Pedestrian Hit, Killed On Garden State Parkway In Toms River: Police
The crash shut down two lanes of the Parkway southbound in Toms River on Sunday night, New Jersey State Police said.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — A pedestrian was hit and killed on the Garden State Parkway on Sunday night, New Jersey State Police said.
The person was hit by a vehicle traveling south in the area of milepost 87, north of the Toms River toll plaza, and died at the scene, Sgt. Alejandro Goez said.
The crash was reported at 7:19 p.m., Goez said. The right two lanes southbound remained closed as of 11 p.m. Sunday for the investigation, which was continuing, he said.

The pedestrian's identity was being withheld pending notification of family, and additional details were not available because of the continuing investigation.
