Photos, Video: Water Floods Streets In Seaside Heights, Seaside Park In Nor'easter's Wake

Breaking: Water continued to flood some streets in the two towns after Tuesday morning's high tide.

Seaside Heights and Seaside Park ended up with flooded streets as a result of the nor'easter that dumped heavy rain on New Jersey from Monday into Tuesday.

Photos from the two towns show the water was still covering streets in the two towns as of noon Tuesday, though residents say the water is beginning to recede.

The nor'easter brought winds that took down trees and power lines and left 100,000 residents in Jersey Central Power & Light's territory without power at some point over the course of the storm. The company said about 55,000 customers — homes and businesses — lost power at some point.

The wind also drove fierce waves onto the beaches and into the backbay areas, resulting in the flooded streets.

Grace Patrisso Bronzino posted photos (at the top of this article) taken at high tide Tuesday morning to the Facebook group Seaside Heights Boardwalk. She said they were taken from her Seaside Park home, and showed Bayview Avenue under water.

"Water is over the docks at Seaside Park Marina," she said. But she said the water did not appear to have gotten as far as Central Avenue. "I can see cars moving at normal speed on Central," she said.
