Roadwork Shuts Hooper Avenue In Toms River: Sheriff

Motorists should avoid the area due to the construction, the sheriff's office said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — If you're traveling around Toms River on Wednesday, avoid Hooper Avenue south of Route 37.

Road construction has forced authorities to close Hooper Avenue between Dayton Avenue and Madison Avenue. There was no timetable given on the length of the closure and no specifics in the Nixle alert about what the construction entails.

The sheriff's office said motorists should expect delays as traffic shifts to alternate roads through the downtown area.
