Route 37 Crash Brings Down Pole, Closes Part Of Hooper Avenue In Toms River

The disruption is expected to last for several hours, officials said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Drivers are urged to stay away from the intersection of Hooper Avenue and Route 37 in Toms River Tuesday evening following a crash.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office is asking drivers to stay away while the crash is being investigated and being cleaned up.

There were no immediate details available on the crash or injuries except the crash took down a traffic signal.

Police officers were directing traffic at the intersection and traffic is passing east and west on Route 37. Hooper Avenue is only being permitted to turn west onto Route 37 from the southbound right lane, and east on Route 37 from the northbound right lane.

At least one vehicle was seen being towed from the scene.
