Route 37 Lane Closures Set For Tunney Bridge Work In Toms River
Repairs on the bridge deck of the J. Stanley Tunney Bridge will begin Monday, the state Department of Transportation said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — There will be closures on the J. Stanley Tunney Bridge and westbound Route 37 next week for repairs to the bridge deck, state officials announced.
The closure is set to begin at 7 a.m. Monday, the state Department of Transportation said.
The contractor, PKF Mark III, will close one lane on Route 37 westbound and the Tunney Bridge between Sunset Drive and Douglas Avenue in Toms River for bridge deck and joint repairs.

At least two lanes of traffic will be maintained. The work is expected to take several weeks with work starting on the right lane and then moving to the left and center lanes.
The work is part of a $9.6 million federally funded preventative bridge maintenance contract that will make repairs to 11 bridges in New Jersey.
