Route 70 Crash Leaves Toms River Driver In Critical Condition: Police
The Toms River man was flown to the hospital after the two-car crash in Manchester that caused both vehicles to spin, police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Toms River man was hospitalized in critical condition Friday after he was injured in a Route 70 crash in Manchester on Thursday, police said.
Daniel Dobos, 45, suffered internal injuries in the crash and was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune after the crash that happened shortly before 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Manchester Lt. Christopher Hemhauser said.
Dobos was driving a silver 2016 Acura TLX and was in the left-turn lane on Route 70 west, waiting to turn onto Ridgeway Road (Route 571) south. Py Kaung, 24, of Brick, was driving a red 2017 Ford Mustang east on Route 70, and as the Mustang entered the intersection, the Acura began to make the left turn onto Ridgeway Road, Hemhauser said.

The Mustang hit the Acura on the front driver's side of the vehicle, and the force of the impact caused the Mustang to spin 90 degrees; it came to rest in the intersection facing north, Hemhauser said. The Acura also spun 90 degrees and came to a rest facing south in the intersection.
Kaung was not injured in the crash, Hemhauser said, and both drivers were traveling alone.

Assisting at the scene were EMTs and firefighters from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Medical Services, volunteer firefighters from the Ridgeway and Manchester Volunteer Fire Departments, paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, the New Jersey Department of Transportation and Accurate Towing, he said.
The road was partially closed during the rescue and cleanup, he said.
Patrolman Conner Yatauro is investigating the crash, but failure to yield to oncoming traffic appears to be the contributing factor at this point, Hemhauser said.
