Route 9 Closed In Toms River Due To Downed Utility Pole

The pole must be replaced and the road is closed in the area until further notice, authorities said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Route 9 in Toms River is closed on Friday morning in the area of Riverwood Drive due to a downed utility pole, authorities said.

The Toms River Office of Emergency Management issued a Nixle alert about the closure, which it said will be in place until further notice, while the utility company replaces the pole.

Ocean County Scanner News reported the pole was hit by a vehicle. The report did not mention injuries but it did say the people were out of the vehicle.
