Hull was arrested Aug. 10, 2016, by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit as part of the Operation Statewide investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, of which the Ocean County High Tech Crime Unit is a member. The investigation led to the arrests of 40 people after authorities tracked images of the sexual exploitation of minors circulating on internet file-sharing networks to individual IP addresses, which led police to the home addresses of suspects in each of the state's 21 counties, the state attorney general's office said at the time of the arrests.

Senior Assistant Prosecutor Kristin Pressman prosecuted the case.
