UPDATE: Woman Missing From Toms River Has Been Found

Update: Marilyn Balzer was found safe, Toms River police said Monday morning. Officials took her to Monmouth Medical South for evaluation and treatment.


TOMS RIVER, NJ — Authorities are continuing to search for an 80-year-old Toms River woman with Alzheimer's who has been missing since Saturday morning.

Marilyn Balzer was last seen walking away from her home in the Lake Ridge section of Toms River about 7:50 a.m., police and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office said Saturday night.

She is 5-foot-7, about 120 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair. She was last seen wearing blue pants, sneakers and a white jacket, authorities said.

She may have been walking north on Route 9, and authorities are asking any businesses along Route 9 to check their video for any sightings of her, police said.
