Sears Closing Ocean County Mall Location By April
The store is among more than 100 Sears and Kmart locations to be shuttered in the next few months, the company said.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Sears at Ocean County Mall will be closed by April, one of more than 100 Sears and Kmart stores nationwide that the chain is closing, the company said in an announcement Thursday.
"Sears Holdings continues its strategic assessment of the productivity of our Kmart and Sears store base and will continue to right-size our store footprint in number and size," the company said in a news release that named the stores to be closed.
Sears had announced plans in November to close 60 stores in early 2018, according to a USA Today report. Those stores were set to close this month. The new list of closures is in addition to the 63 announced in November. The retailer closed 358 locations in 2017, according to a report by Clark.com, a website that focuses on consumer news.
