Seaside Heights St. Patrick's Parade Postponed For 2023

The threat of rain or possibly snow has led the Ocean County St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee to postpone the parade.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — The Ocean County St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee has decided to postpone the parade because of the weather forecast for Saturday.

"Due to the incoming weather for this weekend, we will be postponing our parade until April 1st," the committee said in an update on its Facebook page.

"We apologize for this inconvenience but the safety of all the participants and parade watchers is paramount. We look forward to seeing you on April 1st at noon on the Boulevard," the post said.

The AccuWeather forecast is predicting a 70 percent chance of rain or snow for Saturday morning with a high temperature in the mid-40s and strong winds.

The National Weather Service forecast is calling for an 80 percent chance of rain or possibly snow, also with a high in the mid-40s.

Tomas King, president of the parade, on Tuesday said: "... this is a difficult decision to postpone an event of this size and one we do not take lightly."
