Her death was one of at least three on a weekend that saw dozens of rescues up and down Ocean and Monmouth counties.

SEASIDE PARK, NJ — A Seaside Park woman died after she was pulled from the water on Sunday afternoon, according to a report.

The Asbury Park Press said the woman, identified as Joell Lanfrank, 44, died at about 3 p.m. at Community Medical Center in Toms River, quoting the Ocean County prosecutor's office.

The report said Lanfrank was pulled from the water by Good Samaritans who attempted to revive her.

Her death is one of two over the weekend and three in five days along the coast in Monmouth and Ocean counties. In Long Branch, a man drowned Saturday after being swept into a rip current at Seven Presidents Park. Last Thursday, a New York woman died after she was pulled from the surf in Asbury Park. A swimmer in Point Pleasant Beach died Sunday as well, according to a report.

Dangerous surf conditions that led to dozens of rescues over the weekend, including 35 in Belmar, are expected to persist through this week as Hurricane Maria moves north through the Atlantic Ocean.
