Second Chances Thrift Store To Thank Its Customers Saturday

The Customer Appreciation Day sale aims to raise funds for the organization Redeem-Her that helps women get back on their feet.

Second Chances thrift store in Toms River will hold a Customer Appreciation Day event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. as a fundraiser to support Redeem-Her, the organization’s transitional house for women.

Redeem-Her, a nonprofit organization, provides safety and support for women returning home from jails, prisons, and rehabs. Two thrift stores named Second Chances -- in Neptune City and Toms River -- provide employment opportunities for these women and exist to benefit the community.

“The proceeds from sales within our thrift stores is what keeps our organization’s doors open to both women and the community,” said Faith Petrowski of Redeem-Her, who manages the Toms River store. “We rely solely on these sales to survive and do not receive any financial assistance from other sources.”
