The Indians dueled hard but in the end fell to Jackson, 37-27

Toms River South fought hard, but in the end, it was Jackson Memorial coming up with the big plays needed to secure a 37-27 victory Friday night over the Indians in Shore Conference Class A South.
Toms River South running back Khaleel Greene scored two touchdowns and quarterback Tymere Berry had a pair of touchdown passes for the Indians (3-3, 2-3).
But the Jaguars (6-1, 5-1) were able to respond with big plays of their own, including a 53-yard touchdown that matched Toms River South’s second score of the game. They also got an interception late as the Indians appeared to be driving for fourth-quarter touchdown that would have put them ahead.

Tyler Sosa put Toms River South on the board first, catching a pass from Berry for a 32-yard touchdown and a 7-0 lead. Jackson answered, and Toms River South came right back with a 53-yard touchdown from Greene, who slipped through a hole over the right guard and sped to the end zone.
Jackson replied with a 53-yard touchdown pass from Joe Demaio to Kyle Johnson, then after a defensive stop, added another score and a safety, but the Berry connected with Jaden Kosh for a 30-yard touchdown for the Indians to make it 23-21 in favor of the Jaguars at halftime.

Jackson added a touchdown in the third quarter, and Toms River South responded with a 43-yard touchdown run by Greene to make it 30-27.
An interception by Tyler Sosa appeared to give Toms River South the hope it needed, giving the Indians the ball in Jackson territory, But penalties pushed the Indians back, and the Jackson defense sealed the victory with an interception and added a touchdown for the Jaguars’ final cushion.
The Indians travel to Brick Memorial next Friday for a 7 p.m. game.
