Severe Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain For Ocean County
The storm is packing significant lightning and winds of up to 35 mph in addition to heavy rain.

If you are headed out Friday morning, be careful: Ocean County is under a severe weather warning until 10:45 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Severe thunderstorms already are starting to rumble through and rain of 1 to 2 inches could fall between now and 10:45 a.m., bringing with it the potential for flash flooding.
The National Weather Service Mount Holly office said that as of 7:50 a.m., radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Yorketown to Six Flags Great Adventure to
Wrightstown and were moving east at 20 mph.

Winds up to 35 mph are possible with these storms.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
