TOMS RIVER, NJ — A burned-out motor on the roof of a building at Ocean County College prompted a brief evacuation during classes on Monday, college officials said.

The motor on the roof of the Technology Building produced smoke, leading to the evacuation of a lecture hall, said Dori Londres, spokeswoman for Ocean County College.

Toms River firefighters responded to the call reporting the smell of smoke, but determined the building was safe and students were able to return to class, Londres said.
