A hot and dry weekend will give way to soaking rains Monday, threatening Memorial Day parades and ceremonies, forecasters predict.
Accuweather predicts the heaviest rain of the day could end in the afternoon in New Jersey, however, the Weather Channel on Sunday is predicting a high probability of rain through at least 5 p.m. along the shore areas.
"The interaction between an approaching storm from the west and (Tropical Depression) Bonnie will bring a widespread threat for showers and thunderstorms to the eastern U.S.," according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Brett Rathbun.

The Weather Channel reports Tropical Depression Bonnie made landfall in South Carolina on Sunday morning, and will bring "a moisture plume" north into the East Coast on Monday.
