South Toms River Police Increase Patrols After Drive-By Shooting
Authorities are continuing to investigate the shooting to determine who was responsible.
SOUTH TOMS RIVER, NJ — South Toms River police are adding extra patrols in the borough following a drive-by shooting that happened Wednesday, authorities said Thursday.
South Toms River police were called to a home on Charles Avenue about 7 p.m. Wednesday for a report of shots fired, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Though several bullets and shell casings were recovered, there were no injuries, Billhimer said.

"Thankfully, no one was hurt even though this gunfire occurred in the middle of a residential neighborhood," he said. "Detectives have been working through the night to determine who is responsible."
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, South Toms River Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and its K-9 unit are investigating.
