In Florida, classmates of the students who were killed in last week's shooting at Marjory Stoneham Douglas High School in Parkland have been calling on President Donald Trump and members of Congress to take action to restrict access to firearms and other actions to prevent further mass shootings.

National grass-roots school walkouts by students also are gaining momentum, with March 24 and April 20 dates being circulated as dates for students to demand action by the government.
