Toms River 2019 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Set

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Music, a reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and a visit from Santa Claus all are on tap again this year for the annual Christmas tree lighting celebration in downtown Toms River.

The celebration, sponsored by the Downtown Toms River business improvement district, is set for 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 in the courtyard at Town Hall.

Toms River Volunteer Fire Company 1 again will have hot chocolate and treats for purchase, with the proceeds going to the fire department. The fire company also will have photos with Santa Claus afterward.

Here is the schedule of events:

5 p.m.: Donovan Catholic Choir

5:30 p.m.: A Dancer’s Point
6 p.m.: Zzak G. Applaud Our Kids Foundation
6:30 p.m.: Toms River High School South Choir
6:50 p.m.: Reading of "Twas The Night Before Christmas"
7 p.m.: Santa arrives to light the tree!
7:15 p.m.: Photos with Santa Claus; benefits Toms River Fire Company 1
