Toms River Arrest Nets 1,300 Heroin Doses, South Toms River Man

A South Toms River man is being held on heroin distribution charges after Toms River police stopped the car he was driving and found more than 1,300 wax folds of heroin, police said.
Michael Morgan, 28, of Brandies Road, South Toms River, is being held at the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail, no 10 percent, said Ralph Stocco, Toms River Police Department spokesman.
Morgan was arrested June 25 after his Nissan Altima was pulled over in downtown Toms River, he said. Stocco said the car had been under surveillance by members of the Toms River Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team and had been involved repeatedly in suspicious activity throughout the township.

During course of the investigation, officers located approximately 27 bricks, or 1,356 wax folds, containing heroin, with a street value of $13,000, he said.
Morgan is charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute more than a half-ounce, Stocco said.
