Toms River Blizzard Reminders: Move Vehicles, Prepare For Flooding
Breaking: Township officials are urging residents to get vehicles and all objects off the streets to make plowing more efficient.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Toms River officials are urging to residents be prepared for the oncoming winter storm.
The National Weather Service's Mount Holly office has issued a blizzard warning for Ocean County (along with Monmouth, Middlesex and several others) beginning at 8 p.m. Monday that is expected to remain in place through 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The blizzard warning means there will be falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibility that will lead to whiteout conditions, "making travel extremely dangerous," the National Weather Service warning said.

The potential for minor to moderate coastal flooding exists from 7 a.m. through 3 p.m. Tuesday, the weather service forecasters said. Residents of low-lying and flood-prone areas are urged to take all necessary precautions including moving vehicles to higher ground.
Township officials have been preparing for the storm and are urging residents to remove all vehicles and objects from township streets to make it easier for plow crews to clear the roads.
