Toms River Celebrates Art And The Familiar By Hosting Unique Statue Exhibit For Summer 2015
Residents will be able to walk around Downtown and experience the realistic statues doing conventional actions.
This summer, Toms River Township will have the unique opportunity to display art in its everyday landscape. 20 life-size bronze sculptures from world renowned artist Seward Johnson will be placed on public and private property along Downtown Toms River for visitors to enjoy.
Titled “Celebrating the Familiar”, Johnson’s bronzes depict people engaged in everyday activities. “No Mommy, That One,” featuring a mother and child reading a book, and “Nice to See You”, depicting a man washing windows, will be sure to turn the heads of those walking along the Downtown area.
The display is part of the Toms River Business Development Corporation’s (TRBID) vision and mission to improve the Downtown area and bring art to the community as part of its Community Art Project (CAP).
