Toms River Dance Company Zombifies for Charity

Who said zombies can't dance?

Broadway Bound Dance Centre on Route 37 in Toms River is contributing dance and choreography performances to several Halloween events, and even performed for thousands of zombies last weekend.

The local dance students practiced a special routine as zombies, for a zombie audience in Asbury Park Saturday. The fifth annual Zombie Walk, with an estimated 15,000 attendees and 5,000 more spectators, began on the Asbury boardwalk and proceeded down Cookman Avenue, where Broadway Bound dancers were part of the scheduled performances.

Lindsay Williams, of Broadway Bound Dance Centre, said 22 Toms River students ages 6-18 practiced a zombie routine to be performed twice at the zombie walk.

Williams said the Broadway Bound students have several other public performances lined up for Halloween events.

"We will also be performing at EAKFeast, a Halloween Themed Hayride to benefit Cystic Fibrosis," Wiliams said. "BBDC Touring Company is also performing at Fright Night in Manchester to benefit the Ridgeway Fire Company."
