Toms River Food Fest Canceled Amid Rainy, Cold Weather Forecast
With heavy rain anticipated all weekend, the food truck and family fun event has been canceled, town officials said.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Food Fest scheduled for Saturday in downtown Toms River has been canceled because of the threat of thunderstorms and strong winds over the weekend.
The food fest had planned a rain date of Sunday, but with rain expected to stick around through Mother's Day, Toms River officials decided to cancel it altogether.
Meterologists are predicting up to 3 inches of rain on Saturday with a high temperature of 50 degrees and wind gusts up to 55 mph. Sunday isn't much better, with a high in the mid-50s.

Coastal flooding is possible as well, so beware of water over the road on Water Street, Irons Street and Herflicker Boulevard if you are in that part of Toms River on Saturday.
