The parade is Tuesday, Oct. 31. There will be street closures in place. Find out when you can put chairs out and more.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Do you have your costumes finalized for the Toms River Halloween Parade?
With less than a week to go before the world's second largest Halloween Parade, Toms River Fire Company 1 is issuing some reminders for those participating in the parade and those who will just be watching.
The fire company put out a list of dos and don'ts earlier this year but here are some of the key points for Tuesday. (Read more of the list here.)

The parade is expected to draw nearly 6,000 participants and nearly 100,000 spectators
- Registration for the parade is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the firehouse on Robbins Street. Registration is free but donations are accepted.
- There are 12 different walking divisions and nine motorized divisions to choose from. If you're not sure which one to choose, "our firefighters will help you decide," organizers said.
- Main Street, Washington Street and parts of other surrounding streets will be closed to vehicular traffic as of 5 p.m. The parade will step off from the Toms River Shopping Center at Route 37 and Main Street at 7 p.m. and head south on Main, turn east on Washington Street and finish at Hooper Avenue.
- Spectators are warned to not put chairs out before Tuesday morning for safety reasons. Once you put your chairs in place, make sure they are secured so the wind does not blow them into the street.
- No items of any kind can be thrown from moving vehicles in the parade for safety reasons.
- No promotion of political candidates, parties, or platforms.
- Parking is available at the Ocean County Parking Garage. There will be no parking allowed at the Toms River Shopping Center.
- Parents should arrange to meet children marching in the parade at the Ocean County Administration Building on Hooper Avenue, where all of the awards will be given out.
