Toms River Halloween Parade 2017: What You Need To Know
Road closures, parking, broadcast information and more.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — It's Halloween Parade Day in Toms River and registration is now open at the firehouse of Toms River Fire Company 1 on Robbins Street.
Here are some reminders about the parade:
- Registration for the parade is open until 4 p.m.
- Registration is free but donations are accepted.
- Main Street, Washington Street and parts of other surrounding streets will be closed to vehicular traffic as of 5 p.m.
- The parade will step off from the Toms River Shopping Center at Route 37 and Main Street at 7 p.m. and head south on Main, turn east on Washington Street and finish at Hooper Avenue.
- Those walking in the parade should be dropped off in groups if possible at the Toms River Shopping Center no later than 6 p.m. Vehicles should enter the shopping center from Route 37. All floats are to enter the shopping center off Highland Parkway by the old Foodtown.
- Spectators are not allowed to chairs put chairs out ahead of time to reserve spots, according to Toms River Township officials.
- No promotion of political candidates, parties, or platforms.
- Moving vehicles are not permitted to throw anything and there are no walkers permitted around any motorized division. "There is a ZERO tolerance for this rule for the safety not only for our spectators but participants in the parade," Weingroff said.
PARKING

- Parking is available at the Ocean County Parking Garage, which is accessible from Hadley Avenue, a block east of Hooper Avenue. Parking also will be available at the parking garage behind Town Hall and the Ocean County Library, and in the parking lots on Water Street next to Huddy Park and at the corner of Water and Irons streets across from Toms River Fire Company 2. There will be no parking allowed at the Toms River Shopping Center.
- Parents should arrange to meet children marching in the parade at the Ocean County Administration Building on Hooper Avenue, where all of the awards will be given out.
- No alcohol is permitted in any division during any time of the parade or set-up of the parade.
BROADCAST
- TV-21 will be videotaping the parade for broadcast at a later date and will be stationed at the judges' stand on Washington Street instead of the intersection of Washington and Main streets.
- We will be doing a Facebook Live broadcast of the parade on the Patch. Keep an eye out for updates.
