Toms River Issues Informal Trick-Or-Treat Curfew
For those who aren't familiar, Toms River holds its trick-or-treating on Oct. 30 yearly.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — If you are trick-or-treating in Toms River on Tuesday, town officials are reminding residents and teens that there is an informal curfew in place.
Trick-or-treating is held in Toms River and some of the surrounding towns, including Beachwood, South Toms River, Pine Beach and Island Heights, due to the annual Toms River Halloween Parade, which is held on Oct. 31.
The parade will be marking its 80th year this Wednesday. The parade has been held yearly with rare exceptions; it was not held in 2012 due to Superstorm Sandy, which struck two days earlier.

The parade will begin at 7 p.m. in downtown Toms River.
"This was a joint decision made by the township, Toms River fire companies and the Toms River Police Department," Toms River Mayor Thomas F. Kelaher said. "We want children to be able to come to the parade with their families but still enjoy the time honored tradition of trick-or-treating."
