Toms River Lions Donate To Sandy Rebuilding Efforts
The group made donations totaling $10,500 to assist a group helping to repair and restore homes in Seaside Heights, Ortley Beach, Lavallette

The Toms River Lions Club recently donated $10,500 to assist in the rebuilding of homes in Seaside Heights, Lavallette and the Ortley Beach section of Toms River, the group announced.
The club inspected several homes being rebuilt by the North Carolina Baptist Men’s Organization, then presented them with checks toward work being done on the homes.
On hand to receive the checks were Billy Layton and Tim Etheridge, projector coordinators for the North Carolina group, and printing the checks are Toms River Lions Club President Edward Townsend and Project Coordinator PCC Melvyn K. Bray.

“We are one third of the way through this project as we have partnered on five completed houses at this time and have donated $17,500 so far,” Bray wrote.
The state Lions organization is donating $493,0000 to Sandy-related projects from Middlesex to Atlantic cCounty, he said.
