Toms River Man Charged In Shooting That Injured 2nd Man
A man suffered a gunshot wound after the suspect fired two shots into a car that was sitting in front of a home, Toms River police said.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River man has been charged with aggravated assault after he shot another man on Wednesday while that man was sitting in a vehicle, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday.
Anthony A. Brown, 20, of Toms River, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with an incident that happened late Wednesday night in Toms River.
Toms River police were called to a home on Adams Avenue about 11:30 p.m. for a report of someone injured by a gunshot and found a 24-year-old man with a wound to his leg, the prosecutor's office said.

The man was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, and was treated and released, authorities said.
Investigators learned Brown had gotten a handgun from the house and fired two shots at the victim's vehicle, hitting the victim. Brown then took off, authorities said. He was arrested a short time later at his home, authorities said.

Brown is being held at the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Billhimer said the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit collaborated on the investigation.
