Toms River Man Killed In Parkway Crash
The man was driving south when he ran off the road and hit a tree, New Jersey State Police said.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River man died Thursday when his SUV ran off the Garden State Parkway and hit a tree, New Jersey State Police said Friday.
Mark Edgell, 57, died in the crash that was reported about 4:45 p.m. Thursday near milepost 103.1 on the southbound side of the Parkway, State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.
He was driving a Nissan SUV that hit the guardrail, ran off the road to the left and hit a tree, Lebron said.

Edgell suffered fatal injuries, he said.
The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
